Bright Neighborhoods is an initiative that brings affordable solar and guaranteed electric bill savings to income-eligible homeowners in select West Side neighborhoods of Chicago, Waukegan, and the Carbondale-Marion area! Bright Neighborhoods provides increased support and access to Residential Solar installations for households in these communities. This limited-time initiative offers a chance to lower energy costs with a streamlined process for installing solar panels.<\/p>\n

The Small and Emerging Business Hub<\/a>, launched by the IPA in October, provides small businesses in the solar energy industry with\u202finformation, tools, and resources about the renewable energy industry in one centralized location. Illinois Solar for All in the News<\/h3>\n

This fall, Kankakee Community College celebrated the installation of its new solar project made possible through the Illinois Solar for All program. The 2.5-acre solar array will cover approximately eight percent of the school\u2019s annual electricity consumption, or over 1,300 megawatt hours of energy, the equivalent of powering about 100 homes. Kankakee Community College estimates its savings will total over $84,000 in the first year of operation alone and a projected $2.8 million over the solar array\u2019s expected 25 years of service.
