The Illinois Solar for All: Residential Solar (Small) Budget has Been Fully Allocated - Illinois Solar for All

The Illinois Solar for All (ILSFA) Program Administrator has deemed the Illinois Solar for All: Residential Solar (Small) solar projects submitted during the rolling submission window fully allocates the sub-program’s $30.98 million budget. Projects determined to be eligible will be sent to the Illinois Commerce Commission for approval for the 2025-2026 program year.

Approved Vendors may submit Residential Solar (Small) projects to be added to a waitlist until Friday, July 11, at 5 p.m. CT. If previously approved projects withdraw from the program, projects will be prioritized from the waitlist on a first-come, first-served basis. The ILSFA program will retire the waitlist on May 29, 2026, at the conclusion of the 2025-2026 program year.

Funding for Illinois Solar for All: Residential Solar (Large) is still available, and projects can be submitted for the rolling submission window until May 29, 2026, or until the annual sub-program budget is exhausted, whichever comes first. Since the sub-program budgets for the Residential Solar (Small and Large) sub-programs are combined nine months after the opening of the program year, the two sub-program allocations would combine on March 1, 2026, and the remaining funds would become available to residential projects in either sub-program. Waitlisted projects will be prioritized on a first-come, first-served basis. The Program Administrator will announce the availability of funds shortly before then, and the Project Dashboard may be referenced throughout the program year for remaining funding capacity.

Additionally, the program has funding for the Illinois Solar for All: Non-Profit and Public Facilities and Illinois Solar for All: Community Solar sub-programs. Approved Vendors may submit batches of Non-Profit and Public Facilities and Community Solar projects during the initial submission windows for these sub-programs.
