Electric Bill Savings that Your Organization Can Count On
Electric bill savings are built into the very foundation of the Illinois Solar for All: Non-Profit and Public Facilities sub-program. For organizations like Crisis Nursery, an Urbana emergency childcare facility, ILSFA ensures no or low upfront costs for solar installations and helps offset electricity costs using energy generated by the on-site solar panels. Crisis Nursery used its electric bill savings to invest more money into its mission of serving young children and families in need. Hear directly from Crisis Nursery about how solar is helping their organization and how you can do the same!

Featured Question
“How Much Money Can I Save Through the Illinois Solar for All program?”
The short answer is that it depends on your unique situation and which sub-program you participate in. Savings depend on several factors, including whether you have roof or ground-mount panels, subscribe to a community solar project, and your average electricity rate. When you connect with an Approved Vendor, they will assess your unique situation and estimate your savings before you sign a contract. The Illinois Solar for All program requires Approved Vendors to ensure income-eligible residents save on their electric costs.

Program Updates
Community Solar Projects on the Horizon
The Illinois Solar for All program has reached a major milestone in the Residential Solar (Small) sub-program by allocating the full available budget for the current program year. While the Residential Solar (Small) sub-program is currently full with a waitlist, homeowners and renters can still save on their electric bills by participating in the Community Solar sub-program.
Community solar is a perfect option for saving on electricity costs without installing solar panels on your property. Residents subscribe to a community solar project in their utility area developed by Approved Vendors. Approved Vendors will begin submitting new projects for approval in early October. Now is the perfect time to connect with an Approved Vendor currently accepting new participants!
