Gerald Jones, a homeowner in Chicago’s West Chesterfield neighborhood, participated in Illinois Solar for All to save money on his electric bills. Jones received electrical repairs by participating in the Home Repairs and Upgrades initiative to make his home solar-ready, which paved the way for his solar installation.
“The enrollment process was very easy. All I had to do was sit down and take my time and read,” said Jones. “With the help of the [ILSFA team], they walked me right through it.”

Annual AMI Updates Coming to Illinois Solar for All
In February, Governor J. B. Pritzker signed Public Act 103-1066, which included a revision to ILSFA requiring the Area Median Income (AMI) to be updated annually instead of every five years. This change to the income guidelines allows ILSFA eligibility to remain current with other third-party program verifications that update income eligibility guidelines annually. Illinois Solar for All will release more details about this change when the program updates AMI for the upcoming 2025-2026 program year.

The development was built to Passive House standards, the premier level of environmental sustainability in multifamily construction! Fifth City Commons will feature an extensive rooftop solar project utilizing incentives from ILSFA to fulfill its goals of being a one hundred percent electric building. Read more about the project!
