Join to learn about Illinois Solar For All on the agenda for the First Time Home Buyer Class from Northside Community Resources.   

NCDC offers a course for first time buyers covering topics of budgeting, credit, shopping for a home, purchase contracts, mortgage comparison, real estate professionals, closing, property taxes, refinancing, and assistance programs available in the Chicago region. All participants are awarded a certificate of completion which is needed to qualify for the City of Chicago’s Home Buyer Assistance Program or the Illinois Housing Development Authority’s mortgage products.

This consists of a six-hour group education session, followed by a mandatory, two-hour, one-on-one counseling session. Both the six-hour group class and the two-hour, one-on-one counseling session are required for certificate attainment. The group class is offered for free via Zoom. The one-on-one counseling session is also free.
